Ben Shapiro believes that we need more conservative TV. On the Daily Wire today Shapiro posted, “Even after the fall of “Roseanne,” Hollywood should keep hunting for, and showcasing, right-of-center shows that portray Trump supporters sympathetically.”
Before being fired from ABC, Roseanne ran an episode where she accused her new muslim neighbors of being terrorists. “They could be a sleeper cell full of terrorists getting ready to blow up our neighborhood,” Roseanne says about her new neighbors in the episode.
Critics of Roseanne on Twitter hated the islamophobic sentiment behind the episode. “This is tired,” tweeted Elham Khatami. “Roseanne thinking her Muslim neighbors are terrorists isn’t funny. Not even for a second. Muslims deal with that bigotry on a daily basis. And it’s dangerous.”
This sort of television would certainly appeal to Shapiro though, who has claimed there are “680 million radical muslims” worldwide. Just a month ago, it also came to light that the Quebec City Mosque shooter who killed six muslims was obsessively studying Shapiro’s content before he shot up the mosque.
Shapiro denies having any influence on the killer. “I guess the idea from the left is that if somebody views enough of my tweets they’re inevitably going to become a terrorist,” Shapiro claimed on Fox News. “I did not incite the shooter. I swear.”
This sentiment was unsettling to several fans of Shapiro’s that spoke to Bernard Media anonymously. “I know Ben has something against Islam, that’s not why I listen to him though. The content of the Roseanne show was not for me. The anti-islam sentiment was strong. A weird form of propaganda. I get how it could help Ben’s narratives though.”
Shapiro’s push for more anti-islam, conservative TV is an open, on going Bernard Media investigation. More information will be provided as it is made available.
