This weekend, the white nationalist group The Proud Boys mauled peaceful protestors after a speech at the republican club of New York by their cult leader, Gavin McInnes. “There was a big group of like 30 of them, and they came out grunting…trying to hype each other up,” Shay Horse, a journalist at the scene of the crime told Buzzfeed. When the the grunting mob of Proud Boys spotted a few lone protestors they charged, “Go, boys,” the pack screamed as they chased down the protestors. When the Proud Boys finally cornered the protestors they punched and kicked them until they were curled in the fetal position on the ground. “Faggot! Fucking foreigners,” the Proud boys yelled as they pummeled the protestors, who were outnumbered ten to one. Despite the violent brawl happening right in front of them on the street, the NYPD failed to arrest anyone. It was only after activist pressure and a statement from the NYC mayor’s office that the police began an investigation into the hate crime violence.

“The & want your help re: violent incidents last night on the . If you have info/video about an assault, call at 1-800-577-TIPS. If you’re a victim, file a complaint so those responsible are brought to justice. This will never be tolerated,” NYPD commissioner O’Neil posted on Twitter the day after the brawl.

Now, with a full investigation underway, Proud Boys confidante and frequent Gavin McInnes collaborator Mike Cernovich has deleted all of his tweets. “Cernovich appears to be mass-deleting media posts. I included the clock in each screenshot to show how the number of posts is decreasing,” Twitter user Onesecondname posted last night when the purge began. In the hours and days after the Proud Boys assault, Cernovich had tried to spin the story, claiming that the Proud Boys were innocent. The mass deletion of tweets is an effort to avoid jail time as an accomplice to the brawl, investigators reviewing the case explained to Bernard Media.

Deleting tweets in hopes of dodging jail time is not a new tactic for Cernovich either. Recently, Cernovich deleted all of his posts in relation to the Pizzagate conspiracy, a theory Cernovich helped architect and propagate across the internet. The idea behind the campaign was that a child sex ring was being run out of a pizzeria basement by John Podesta and Hillary Clinton. “Pizzagate is huge, this story is not going away,” Cernovich tweeted previously. He only mass deleted his Pizzagate content once a gunman open fired a rifle in the pizzeria. The shooter believed he was saving child sex slaves and impressing Cernovich in the process.

Cernovich has also deleted rape apologist and pro-sexual assault content he created. “Have you guys ever tried “raping” a girl without using force? Try it. It’s basically impossible. Date rape does not exist,” Cernovich claimed in a now deleted tweet. Articles on his blog endorsing sexual harassment have also been deleted. In one post, “When In Doubt, Whip It Out,” Cernovich advocates for masturbating in front of a woman if she doesn’t want to have sex with you. “Next time, don’t settle for the make out. At least pull out your dick. If you can get her to touch it, even better. If not, just let her know that your cock is too swollen to go back in your jeans and that, “either you’re taking care of this, or I am.””

Another case of deleting tweets was when a suspect letter, allegedly from a family member of Cernovich’s wife, claimed that he was going off the deep end. The letter was a call for help, asking the police to intervene into what could turn into a, “multiple homicide situation.” After the letter came to light, Cernovich deleted a slew of tweets glorifying murder. In one tweet, Cernovich walks aspiring killers through the process of killing someone. “How to commit murder: first thing is first, always sneak attack them so there is lil to no struggle, don’t want any of your DNA beneath their finger nails. I would use a tazer to drop them, then suffocate them. After that use a knife to cut the tazer burned flesh off and feed it to your dog or something. After they’re dead act quick and dump them off a cliff into a swift moving river.” Other deleted tweets praise serial killer Charles Manson saying, “Dude is a boss.” When asked to describe himself in three words on Twitter, Cernovich posted, “Charles Manson Admirer.”

This tweet purge should come as no shock given Cernovich’s past involvement with the Proud Boys and history of deleting tweets. Luckily, Bernard Media has a vast and complete archive of all of Cernovich’s tweets going back to the day he opened his account. BM is currently cooperating with law enforcement to enable a thorough investigation into all involved parties. More information will be released as deemed appropriate.
